2012 Food Vending Application

Lollapalooza
August 3, 4, 5th, 2012
Grant Park, Chicago

Lollapalooza is back to celebrate its eighth year in Chicago!  Our food courts feature a wide selection of delectable menu items with an emphasis on the best from local Chicago favorites.  This three-day landmark Festival set in Chicago's beautiful Grant Park draws 90K+ patrons a day.

If you're interested in joining the food court or Lolla Farmers Market at this year's festival, fill out the application below and click the "Submit" button.

Our food courts set us apart in the variety and quality of menu selections.  We seek Chicago (and area) favorite restaurants, and want to offer our patrons much more than the typical "carnival" type fare, with an emphasis on fresh, reasonably priced items from the Chicago area.

The farmers market is located in Green Street, an area dedicated to sustainable practices.  The Lolla Farmers Market is separate from the food courts and is intended to provide Lollapalooza fans with the opportunity to enjoy and support Chicago area sustainable food production. 2010 marked the first year of the farmers market. Vendors in the market should not expect to sell as many units per day as Chow Town vendors. Note that there is no cooking allowed in the farmers market and you must be a current vendor of farmers markets in the Chicago area in order to be considered.

Note:  Location of booth(s) is solely determined by C3 Presents and returning vendors are not guaranteed acceptance into Lollapalooza 2012 or placement in the same location as previous year(s).

I am applying in the following category.

MENU

The main goal of our food courts is to serve our patrons quality menu items by professional, friendly staff--with wait times kept to a minimum.  Make sure your menu selections can be served in a timely manner.  Critical to efficient turnaround (and more sales!) are points of service.  20 x 20 booths must have 6 - 8 points of sale.  10 x 20 booths must have 4 - 6 points of sale.  10 x 20 farmers market booths must have 3 - 4  points of sale.  All menu items and pricing subject to approval.

Menu Items

All vendors will be limited to 3 or 4 items.  Please provide a brief description of each item with pricing.  Prices need to be in full dollar amounts and are subject to approval.

SIGNAGE

Our Creative team designs and produces the signage for all booths, ensuring a unified, professional and visually appealing food court.  The booth name (note:  no logos or other graphics), the menu item and price are featured on a colorful banner.    The simpler, the better.

Environmental Greening Efforts

See the vendor guidelines for specific information regarding greening.  Food vendors will join the effort to green the festival and have as little environmental impact as possible.  Every year we increase our commitment to greening and ask the same of selected vendors.  Highlights:  no styrofoam allowed; food must be served in eco-friendly products and all cutlery and napkins must also be eco-friendly.  Drinks must be served in a #1 recyclable or compostable cup; no "picnic packs" (utensils, salt, pepper in packets);  no individual condiment packs; vending operations must meet recycling festival guidelines (ex: cardboard broken down and stacked for recycling); no toxic cleansers.  We also encourage vendors to use local/organic sources as part of their ingredients.

Selected vendors will be monitored during the event to ensure eco-friendly operations.
