2013 Food Court Application

June 8-9, 2013 | Belle Isle, Detroit

After the 2012 debut in Atlantic City, NJ, Metallica’s Orion Music + More Festival lands in Detroit for a weekend packed full of fun – Metallica style. Complete with a versatile music lineup, classic cars, Metallica memorabilia, skating talent, horror collections, a rock & roll “emporium”, and much more, Orion 2012 left music fans hungry for its return to Detroit, MI.

Producers of Orion Music + More, C3 Presents, believe that there is more to a great festival experience than the entertainment alone. Quality food will be a key component of this event, and publicized through various outlets. For a true taste of the area, we invite Detroit's restaurants and chefs to apply for a booth in the Orion Food Court.

If you're interested in joining the food court at this year's festival, fill out the application below and click the "Submit" button.

Food Trucks

Orion Music + More is considering featuring Detroit's food trucks as an addition to the Food Court. If your business is operated out of a food truck, please fill out the section below.

Note that if your food truck is accepted in the food court, your truck may serve as your onsite kitchen, but you will be required to serve patrons out of the service tent to maintain four to six points-of-sale per booth.

If the kitchen in your truck can't produce the volume of food necessary to serve the crowds, you will need to set up a temporary kitchen behind your service booth.

I am applying in the following category.

Menu

The main goal of our food courts is to serve our patrons quality menu items by professional, friendly staff--with wait times kept to a minimum.  Make sure your menu selections can be served in a timely manner.  Critical to efficient turnaround (and more sales!) are points of service.  20 x 20 booths must have 6-8 points of sale. 10 x 20 booths must have 4-6 points of sale. All menu items and pricing subject to approval.

Menu Items

All vendors will be limited to a maximum of 4 items.  Please provide a brief description of each item with pricing.  Prices must be in full dollar amounts and subject to approval.

Signage

Our Creative team designs and produces the signage for all booths, ensuring a unified, professional and visually appealing food court. The booth name (note: no logos or other graphics), the menu item and price are featured on a colorful banner. The simpler, the better.

Environmental Efforts

Food vendors will join the Festival's effort to minimize its impact on the environment. Highlights: no styrofoam or single-use bags allowed; food must be served in eco-friendly products and all cutlery and napkins must also be eco-friendly. Drinks must be served in #1 recyclable or compostable cup; no "picnic packs" (utensils, salt, pepper in packets); no individual condiment packs; vending operations must meet festival guidelines (ex: cardboard broken down and stacked for recycling); no toxic cleansers. We also encourage vendors to use local/organic sources for their ingredients.

Selected vendors will be monitored during the event to ensure eco-friendly operations.

Additional Opportunities

Orion hosts members of the press each year in our Press Lounge where they interview artists, file their stories and gear up for the next show. They’re working long days, and we try to take care of them by providing drinks, snacks, happy hour, and daily lunch and dinner. This is a great opportunity for our vendors and sponsors to showcase their products directly to press and artists. If you’re interested in providing a meal, snack or product for the Press Lounge, please select the "yes" box below, and someone from our Orion Marketing team will contact you.
