An Advanced Workshop for National Register Nomination Preparers
On Wednesday, June 6, 2012, the National Park Service (NPS) and the New Jersey Historic Preservation Office will jointly sponsor a full-day workshop about the National Register of Historic Places. This will be an advanced discussion for the knowledgeable nomination preparer, and your opportunity to learn about National Register issues directly from the source: the professional staff of the NPS National Register program . You can anticipate a complex discussion revolving around diverse topics such as archaeological resources, cultural landscapes, ethnic diversity and assessing integrity. The workshop will also cover changing technical issues, such as GIS, the availability of National Register nomination online, photo policies, and the ever-evolving digital world and what that may mean to the future of National Register nomination submissions. This workshop will hone your skills as a nomination writer and provide a great opportunity to interact with the different levels of staff reviewers.
