Named in recognition and memory of Dr. Raymond Wong’s exemplary contributions as a health care provider, this award is presented to an outstanding individual who exemplifies excellence in clinical practice and leadership.  He began his career working on an Indian Reservation and spent twenty years working for Hill Health Center, a clinic serving some of New Haven’s poorest and sickest residents.  Dr. Wong served as Hill Health Center’s Chief of Internal Medicine and Coordinator of their tuberculosis project.  He was also recognized by the Yale Department of Internal Medicine for his exemplary work supervising and teaching medical students and residents. Dr. Wong spent time in Haiti treating sick patients and in Leeway, treating AIDS patients in which he developed a sub specialty. Co-workers at Hill Health Center described him as a doctor who would go the extra mile for every patient.
