We are sorry that you have come to the difficult decision to rehome your dog. Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. is a volunteer-run, foster-based group. We do not have a shelter or facility; our animals live with families as we search for their forever homes.

By completing this form, you express your intent to surrender a dog to Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. We cannot promise all families that we can take your pet into our network, primarily due to our small foster team(and finding a foster compatible with your pet's needs). As a collective group, we will try our best to support you and provide resources of help if we are unable to accept your request for surrender.

We may require a behavioral consultation (at your expense) as a part of our intake considerations. The wait into our network will be dependent on foster availability at the time of submitting this form.

For any animals with a bite history, we sadly do not have the resources to take on.

Please complete the application thoroughly so that we can sincerely consider your situation. An application does not guarantee we can take your pet into our network. Our surrender fee is $75.

Once your surrender form is submitted, a member of the team will reach out within 72 hours.

If any additional files or attachments are needed to complete your pet's file, please email them to Info@bigwavedogrescue.com

Each surrender situation is different, and we may request a behavior consult from one of our trusted trainers prior to making a final decision.

If we are able to accept your surrender request, your pet will be placed on a waiting list. As a foster frees up, surrendered animals will be able to join our network. If we cannot accept your pet, we will try and point you in the direction of resources that can assist you.

Upon Surrender, we will require you to send an official surrender letter or email stating that you are 1. Are surrendering and releasing ownership of your pet to Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc.

2. State that your pet is not aggressive, and, has no known bite history.

3. Be "signed" and dated.

Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. charges a 75-dollar surrender "fee". This will allow us to provide your surrendered pet with the supplies needed to enter our foster program.

I understand that my pet must be up to date in all vetting in order to be surrendered to Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. If Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. is able to bring in my pet(s), I understand and agree that I am financially responsible for these medical care/costs. You agree and understand to pay the $75 dollar surrender fee as requested by Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. if BWDR can take over ownership of your pet. *
