Terms and Conditions

I will abide by the mission, rules, regulations, policies, and programs of Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. while I am a volunteer.
I will not engage in any unsafe, illegal, or unethical activities while acting as a Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. volunteer.
As a condition of volunteering, which I acknowledge to be adequate consideration, I also agree to enter into an additional confidentiality agreement as well as a waiver of liability with this volunteer agreement.
I agree and understand the above conditions. I understand that failing to uphold them is sufficient grounds for BWDR to request and implement my removal as a volunteer. *

I acknowledge that this agreement will apply for the entire term of my volunteer relationship starting with the date I first perform volunteer duties for Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc., even if it predates the date of this agreement, and continuing as long as I continue to be a Volunteer and thereafter as is necessary to protect the interests and rights of BWDR. *

Confidentiality. During my association with Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. and thereafter, I will keep confidential, refrain from disclosing to others, and use only in the performance of my volunteer duties, all confidential information about BWDR that I develop or learn about during the course of my association. I understand that this agreement covers all confidential business and technical information and know-how of BWDR which is not generally known to persons outside of BWDR and which I have not been specifically authorized to disclose or use.I agree to not disclose sensitive or non-public information to people outside the organization or discuss it in public places. Examples of confidential information include, but are not limited to, information on finances, donors, outreach programs, and information received from others that BWDR has agreed to keep confidential. *

Personal Responsibility. I hereby agree to be legally and financially responsible and will indemnify and hold Big Wave Dog Recue Inc. harmless for my own acts and omissions relating to the service I am voluntarily providing to BWDR. I acknowledge that I am responsible for providing my own medical, liability, and auto insurance during my volunteer service. I understand that I am not covered by workers’ compensation. *

I attest that I understand the risks present in volunteer duties, particularly in working with animals, and freely assume those risks and agree to release and indemnify Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc., its officers, agents, employees, and volunteers from and against all claims for injury, accident, loss or danger to the undersigned as a result of such volunteer duties. *

As consideration for being permitted by Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. to participate in activities and provide services, I hereby agree that I, my assignees, heirs, guardians, and legal representatives will not make a claim against or sue Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. for injury or damage resulting from my participation in activities and performance of services. *

I recognize that while performing my services in a voluntary capacity in handling animals there may be a risk of injury. On behalf of myself, my heirs, and personal representatives I hereby release and hold harmless Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc., its Board of Directors, agents, and employees from any and all claims, causes of action, or demands of any nature or cause connected to my volunteer service. I also agree to release and hold Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. harmless for any and all damages to my personal property while performing my volunteer services. If I am signing this release form as a parent or legal guardian of a minor volunteer (under 18 years of age), I hereby give my consent to allow my child to volunteer services for Big Wave Dog Rescue Inc. I agree to hold BWDR harmless for any claim, loss, or injury incurred by such a child. I acknowledge that I have read and fully understand the terms and conditions of the foregoing liability release waiver. *

YOU UNDERSTAND THAT THE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION/CONTRACT SUBMISSION DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL BE ASKED TO VOLUNTEER FOR BWDR. *
