ISSI Lounge Reservation Request Form

Thank you for your interest in using the ISSI function space. Please read the information on this application carefully. 
1. Permission to use the space will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis and granted based on availability. 
2. Please understand that ISSI operations and events are priority. 
3. Requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the scheduled event for consideration.  
4. We can accomodate requests within the ISSI office hours (Fall and Spring semester: 8:30am to 7:00pm Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 5:00pm on Friday; Office hours may change during summer and other vacation time. Please check the ISSI website or call our office for the current office hours.)
5. We cannot accomodate weekend requests.
6. Unfortunately, we are not able to accomodate requests for food events using the kitchen and lounge Monday - Friday before 4:30PM. We may be able to accomodate requests for meeting space during this time, based on availability.
7. Reoccurring weekly meetings cannot be accomodated.
8. Failure to follow our rules and policies may prevent you from using our space in the future.

ISSI Mission Statement

The mission of the ISSI is predicated upon the notion that learning can best be achieved in a milieu that fosters meaningful cross-cultural interaction and understanding among all members of the University community. ISSI staff members work to create cultural enrichment opportunities that offer avenues for exploring and enhancing the educational, social, and cultural facets of the Northeastern University experience.

ISSI Lounge Reservation Conditions

1. Office Hours: The ISSI is open Monday-Thursday from 8:30am to 7:00pm, and 8:30am to 5:00pm on Friday during the academic year.

2. Request Pocessing:
Space is granted based on space and ISSI staff availability.  Events, meetings and activities planned by the ISSI will take priority to all other requests. 

Weekly Meetings:
 Groups cannot be guaranteed to use of the room on a weekly basis for the entire semester. If you would like to reserve the room for occasional group meetings, activities or events, please contact us ONE WEEK before the meeting, and if it is available, you will be notified.

Requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

CANCELLATION: If you have a reservation with us but no longer need to use the space, please give us at least a day’s notice.  Not showing up for your reservation without cancellation might prevent you from using our space in the future.

CLEANING UP: Please leave enough time to clean the space before the office's closing time. The improper cleanup will have an influence on your further request.

CAPACITY: Please note that the capacity of the ISSI function space is 30 people. If the number of your guests are over 30, please consider the other space on campus to host your event. We appreciate your consideration to help maintain a good condition of this space.

3. Room Condition:
Please leave the ISSI Lounge in as good, or better, condition than it was found. Please follow this checklist as a guide: 
  • If event/activity involves cooking, visitors must provide all necessary ingredients.
  • Remove trash from space and place out in the hallway.
  • Wash dishes and/or load dishwasher.
  • Wipe down all surfaces.
  • Vacuum, if necessary.
  • Report any spills, stains or damages to ISSI staff working the event.
  • Wipe stove or clean out oven, if used.
  • Rinse out sink.
  • Rinse and squeeze out sponge and place back in sponge holder in sink.
  • Left-over food must be removed from the kitchen and taken home.


  • Return furniture to original positions.
  • Remove trash from space and place out in the hallway.
  • Wipe down all surfaces.
  • Vacuum, if necessary.
  • Report any spills, stains or damages to ISSI staff working the event.
  • Power down AV equipment appropriately.
