in Uncertain Times for Teachers

The next school year is sure to be like no other, with many unknowns. In this webinar, we’ll consider how teachers can prepare for a variety of potential scenarios for the 2020-2021 school year. We’ll look at ways that teachers can design, build, and facilitate courses so that no matter the medium (online or on campus), the learning can continue.

Speakers

 
 

Sarah Hanawald serves as One Schoolhouse’s assistant head of school for professional development and new programs. She has been a classroom teacher, a technology director, and an academic dean at three North Carolina independent schools. Sarah’s work has focused on the intersection of technology, curriculum, and pedagogy in defining the future of education. Sarah served as the first executive director of the Association of Technology Leaders in Independent Schools (ATLIS), and as the CEO of One to One Institute, an organization dedicated to digital equity for all learners. Sarah has a B.A. from Duke University and an M.Ed. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

 

 
 

Brad Rathgeber is the head of school and CEO of One Schoolhouse, a consortium that partners with independent schools to expand learning opportunities for students and educators online. Brad champions an independent school approach to online learning, believing that the best classrooms are relational, challenging, and supportive. Prior to One Schoolhouse, Brad worked as a teacher and administrator at Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, MD for seven years. Before that, he worked in higher education in advancement. Brad earned a bachelor's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead-Cain Scholar, and a master's degree from Dartmouth.
