Early-career educators are juggling so many new things - classroom management, curriculum, the culture of a new school, parents, and more. The Early Career Teacher Mentorship Program supports new teachers by providing year-long virtual support from experienced independent school educators. The program will give teachers the space to learn core skills, gain confidence, and improve their practice while building relationships with other early-career educators.
Participants will engage around key topics including:
- classroom practice, including classroom culture, student engagement, building relationships
- pedagogy, including frameworks, assessment strategies, feedback, learner diversity
- independent schools, including culture, parent relationships, campus life and responsibilities
- personal efficacy, including professional growth, time and workflow management, sustainability and self-care
PROGRAM:
This virtual program will be valuable to any teachers in the first three years of teaching, and includes both asynchronous learning modules (timely topics each month) and synchronous cohort-based dialogues. Each cohort is facilitated by an experienced educator/mentor and groups are intentionally small (capped at 12 teachers).
