GRPS Research Request

Welcome to the GRPS Research Request System.

Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) partners with universities, foundations, and research institutions to discover practices in education that advance student achievement. Data, evaluation and research requests, however, are secondary to our goal of educating our students, and is a privilege reserved for proposals that: 1) support the academic plan; 2) avoid duplication of effort; and 3) do not interfere with instruction or the efficient operation of GRPS or its schools.

All research  requests must be submitted through this system. Please complete this form, providing a thorough and detailed account of the proposed research or evaluation as this provides the GRPS Research Review Committee with the information necessary to make a determination. The request will be reviewed against the following criteria:

     1) Value and relevance to the current needs and interests of GRPS;

     2) Quality of methodology; and

     3) Cost in terms of staff time, instructional interruption, programming support, etc.

Within 30 days of submitting a request, the Office of Assessment and Evaluation will follow-up with you regarding GRPS's determiniation and next steps.

 

Steps to submit a research or evaluation request:

Step 1. Review the evaluation and research at GRPS guide. This includes Information on request requirements and the review process.

Step 2. Use the research request template to compile all of the information needed in the online application.

Step 3. Complete the research design table. This must be submitted in the online application.

Step 4. Submit your completed application.
